2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Consumer account and profile information. When you create or use a GMNM account, we may collect your first name, email address, city, state, country, hair type, whether you already have microlocs, what you are looking for, how you heard about GMNM, and other information you choose to provide.

Search Pass and transaction information. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. GMNM does not directly collect or store your full credit or debit card number. We may receive transaction and customer information made available to us by the payment provider, such as your email address, amount paid, payment status, purchase information, and transaction or customer identifiers. We also maintain information needed to administer Search Pass access, such as purchase date, expiration date, and access status.

Directory activity. When you use the directory, we may collect information about your interactions with the Services, including profile views, searches, favorites, and clicks on booking, website, social media, email, or other links.

Reviews and feedback. If you submit a review, the review may be displayed anonymously to other users, but it is associated internally with your GMNM user/account identifier. This means GMNM can identify the account associated with a review for purposes such as administration, moderation, fraud prevention, and enforcement. We may also collect feedback, survey responses, corrections, customer-support communications, and other information you choose to provide.

Loctician and business information. If you submit or maintain a directory listing, we may collect your name, legal business name, business or professional name, email address, phone number, city, state, country, business or studio address if provided, social media information, website and booking links, services, experience, training, certifications, professional license number and licensing state, Sisterlocks® training or professional status, and other information submitted in connection with your listing.

Verification documentation. In some circumstances, a Loctician may provide a photo, screenshot, or copy of a professional license, Sisterlocks® certificate, training certificate, or similar documentation when information cannot be confirmed through an available public source. Supporting verification documentation is used for administrative and review purposes and is not ordinarily published as part of the directory listing.

Communications and marketing information. We may collect your email address and information about your interactions with our emails, promotions, events, surveys, giveaways, or marketing campaigns.

Information collected automatically. When you visit or use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, pages or screens viewed, timestamps, clicks, and other interactions. This information may be collected through cookies, pixels, software development kits, and similar technologies.

General location information. GMNM asks users to provide general location information such as city, state, and country. GMNM operates a professional directory, and not all directory information is submitted directly by the person or business listed.

We may collect professional and business information from publicly available or third-party sources, including social media profiles, professional or business websites, publicly available business directories and booking platforms, professional registries, Sisterlocks® public practitioner information, state professional licensing databases, state or other business-registration databases, referrals, and other public records or sources.

We may compare information from these sources with information submitted directly to GMNM in order to review, maintain, update, or correct directory listings.

We do not treat the mere appearance of information in a public source as an endorsement of the person or business by GMNM.

4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We may use personal information to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services; create and manage user accounts; provide and administer Search Pass access; process and reconcile purchases and refunds; maintain and update directory listings; review or verify certain listing information; personalize and improve the directory experience; save favorites and associate account activity with a user; display and moderate reviews and other user-submitted content; respond to questions, support requests, listing corrections, and other communications; send service-related messages about your account, purchase, access, or the Services; send newsletters, promotional emails, offers, and other marketing communications; conduct surveys, giveaways, promotions, and events; understand usage, traffic, and performance; measure and improve marketing and advertising; create or match advertising audiences on third-party advertising platforms; prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, scraping, or other misuse; protect the rights, safety, and security of GMNM, our users, Locticians, and others; enforce our Terms and other agreements; comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, or other obligations; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Where applicable law requires a particular legal basis for processing, we may rely on consent, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and marketing the Services, as appropriate.

5. EMAIL AND MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

Search Pass purchasers may be enrolled in GMNM email communications, including messages related to their Search Pass and general GMNM marketing communications.

Service-related communications may include purchase confirmations, access or activation information, account notices, support responses, expiration-related information, and other messages necessary to administer the Services.

Marketing communications may include newsletters, educational content, updates, offers, promotions, and other GMNM news. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those emails or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing emails does not prevent us from sending service-related or transactional communications when appropriate.

We may also use certain customer information, such as an email address, to create or match advertising audiences on third-party advertising platforms, deliver or measure advertising, and improve our marketing. Those platforms process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.

8. PAYMENT PROCESSING

Payments for Search Passes or other paid GMNM products or services may be processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe.

GMNM does not directly collect or store full payment-card numbers. Payment providers may collect payment credentials and other information directly from you under their own privacy policies.

GMNM may receive and retain information made available by the payment provider that is necessary to confirm transactions, administer access, provide customer service, issue eligible refunds, maintain business records, prevent fraud, and comply with legal or accounting obligations.

9. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain an account or directory listing, administer Search Pass access, communicate with you, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce agreements, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory requirements.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason we collected it.

If you request deletion of your GMNM consumer account, we can delete or deactivate your account/profile information from the active GMNM application, subject to applicable law and legitimate retention needs. Certain information may remain in payment, email, analytics, accounting, security, backup, or other service-provider systems for a period of time according to legal requirements, our legitimate business needs, or those providers’ retention practices.

We may also retain de-identified or aggregated information that no longer reasonably identifies you.
